POWER FROM THIN-AIR
- The sensors pick up the microwaves (radio /Wi-Fi signals produced by television and mobile-phone transmitters etc.) with an antenna and convert the signals into electrical energy.
- The antenna receives the RF/Wi-Fi signals and feeds it to a rectifying circuit, which turns the signal into direct current (DC).
- This DC energy is then fed into a power management module that boosts the voltage and it is this voltage that is used to charge a battery or other energy source.
- Wireless charging through thin air is being developed in-house.
- Today we can see mobile phones getting charged through Witricity,
- In near future we would see vehicles getting charged.
