POWER FROM Thin-Air

POWER FROM THIN-AIR

  • The sensors pick up the microwaves (radio /Wi-Fi signals produced by television and mobile-phone transmitters etc.) with an antenna and convert the signals into electrical energy.
  • The antenna receives the RF/Wi-Fi signals and feeds it to a rectifying circuit, which turns the signal into direct current (DC).
  • This DC energy is then fed into a power management module that boosts the voltage and it is this voltage that is used to charge a battery or other energy source.
  • Wireless charging through thin air is being developed in-house.
  • Today we can see mobile phones getting charged through Witricity,
  • In near future we would see vehicles getting charged.
